Program Overview
The Excellence Awards gala, presented by the 24-hour Afroglobal Television channel, is set for Saturday, November 21st, 2020. This year’s event will be virtual, with streaming on social media platforms and broadcast on the Afroglobal Television channel as well as programming on OMNI TV. The mission of the program is to showcase the achievements of individuals, organizations, businesses and agencies that make a profound difference in the lives of people of African descent, and to transform the communities where they live. The program engages an esteemed audience, and is presented in print, broadcast and online media.
The 2020 Virtual Excellence Awards Program
Silvertrust Media, Afroglobal Television and the Transformation Institute will facilitate professional activation of the world-class event. The telecast will be produced in advance due to COVID-19. The ceremony, entertainment and more will be streamed on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, the Afroglobal website and others. There will also be a virtual VIP experience function. This will provide an opportunity for VIPs from all three levels of Canadian government, recipients, sponsors, youth from the Crossover Mentorship Program, and other tickets holders to participate in a live, interactive experience.

Purpose and Categories
The awards program produces mentors and role models for youth in the Crossover Mentorship Program. Corporate, public sector and community leaders from all three levels of government, and from around the world participate in the gala. You will join 15 other distinguished Canadian and international recipients in the traditionally glitzy red carpet affair, which celebrates the best of Africa & the global Diaspora. Categories include Leadership, Enterprise, Science and Technology, Humanitarian, Professional Achievement, Visionary, Heritage, Global Impact, Marcus Garvey Memorial Award, Rising Star, Media, Entertainment, Renaissance, Community, Lifetime and the Martin Luther King Jr. Legacy Award.
